Softball Australia is thrilled to offer its Sporting Schools program to children across Australia’s school yards. The Sporting Schools initiative is extremely exciting for all involved and we are keen to grow our sport and help children do more sport, more often.
Softball Australia is pleased to partner with the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) to deliver this $160 million Australian Government initiative to get more children playing more sport.
Millions of people all over the world recognise the benefits of softball and play it as either a social or competitive sport. As a team sport for all ages and abilities, softball offers participants many benefits including, improved health and fitness, increased physical activity and mental alertness and a sense of belonging.
As the national sporting organisation (NSO) for Softball we offer schools and coaches quality programs that encourage children to participate in this great sport.
THE SOFTBALL AUSTRALIA PRODUCT
Softball endorses and offers Softball Batter Up through Sporting Schools.
Softball Batter Up is a multi-session program primarily for children four to 12 years of age. The program is offered at four different levels, introducing participants to the fundamental skills of softball and ensures maximum participation and enjoyment.
Softball Batter Up can be used as a fun program for kids who have never played softball before, as a holiday program or as training sessions for young softballers. Softball Batter Up aims to promote lifelong participation in softball and is supported by extensive practical resources.
TEACHERS AND COACHES ARE OUR ASSETS
Softball Australia values the role of teachers not just in the classroom but in the school yard as well. Their enthusiasm for improving children’s lives is often understated. Society places its trust and confidence in teachers who as educators, have one of the most important roles for our children, outside of parents and carers.
Coaches are also a wonderful influence on children throughout their formative years. Coaches are the people who deliver the skills with fun and enjoyment.
The information below is a guide to how schools, coaches and sporting organisations can deliver the Batter Up program within Sporting Schools.
