Equestrian Australia is delighted to offer its Sporting Schools program to children across the nation. We are pleased to partner with the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) to deliver this $200 million Australian Government initiative to get more children playing more sport.
Equestrian Australia is proud to present the junior participation program, Ready Set Trot which is an introductory Equestrian program for children who love horses but may not have access to a horse of their own.
As the national sporting organisation (NSO) for equestrian, we offer schools and coaches quality programs that encourage children to participate in this great sport.
The Equestrian Australia products
Ready Set Trot – Equestrian Program offers young people a unique opportunity to try a new sport whilst developing their motor skills and learning values such as team work and respect by engaging in a program that is all about horses.
Equestrian Australia has a range of packages to suit your school’s needs, ranging from playground skills with horsemanship knowledge included in active play games right through to a comprehensive holistic Equestrian experience with actual riding sessions included. Packages will be structured to suit your school’s requirements.
Ride a Horse is an interactive program for secondary school students that will encourage students to be more active and engaged in sport whilst learning fundamental skills associated with Equestrian. This program also has the capacity to be helpful in addressing Leadership, Team Work, Communication, Self Esteem, Behavioural issues or many other skills through the positive interaction associated with working with horses
Teachers and coaches are our assets
Equestrian Australia values the role of teachers beyond the classroom. Their enthusiasm for improving children’s lives is often understated. Society places its trust and confidence in teachers who as educators, have one of the most important roles for our children, outside of parents and carers.
Coaches are also a wonderful influence on children throughout their formative years. Coaches are the people who deliver the skills with fun and enjoyment.
The information below is a guide to how schools, coaches and sporting organisations can deliver the Ready Set Trot program within Sporting Schools.
