Cricket Australia's programs have been specifically designed for Sporting Schools with the aim of increasing participant’s confidence and competence and providing the assisting school representative with additional resources around new cricket content for their curriculum.

PRIMARY SCHOOL PROGRAM

Cricket Australia is offering two programs for primary schools in Sporting Schools. These programs are made up of practical cricket activities that focus on fun, fitness and friendships.

The junior program is aimed at low to mid primary aged kids with content more suitable to this age and ability level based around our national MILO in2CRICKET program.

The senior program is aimed at mid to upper aged primary kids with content more suitable to this age and ability level based around our national MILO T20 Blast program.

PROGRAM BENEFITS:

  • Schools have the flexibility to book between 4-6 sessions to suit their needs. 
  • Schools are provided with additional resources to introduce new cricket-themed content to their curriculum. 
  • Programs can be delivered externally by Cricket Australia’s nationally endorsed provider or can be self-delivered with teachers provided with online Professional Development resources (content / videos). 
  • All equipment is supplied and participants even get to keep bats and balls allowing students to continue their skill development at home

MILO in2Cricket program

SECONDARY SCHOOL PROGRAM

Cricket Australia logoCricket Australia is offering two programs for secondary school students in Year 7 and 8, these are Cricket Skills and Games and the Female Cricket Health & PE program.

Cricket Skills and Games

Cricket Skills and Games is an exciting new program that uses cricket as the vehicle for promoting movement and physical activity in secondary schools. The curriculum aligned, engaging and inclusive program allows students to learn through movement by using modified games for skill development. The final week of the program consists of modified T20 games which are designed by the students themselves. 

The program can be delivered by teachers or coaches who are armed with the resources to deliver the program and facilitate communication, interaction and collaboration amongst students which increases the engagement & enjoyment levels for all participants. 

Female Cricket Health & PE

Cricket Australia is excited to offer a new Female Cricket Health & PE program for Year 7 and 8 secondary school girls. This curriculum aligned, engaging and inclusive program uses cricket as the vehicle for promoting movement and physical activity. 

The program allows students to learn through movement by using modified games for skill development. It also promotes a positive and safe learning environment with reduced barriers to participation for female students. The program is designed with a holistic view of physical activity which contributes to social, physical and community well-being.
