Cricket Australia (CA) is thrilled to offer its Sporting Schools program to children across Australia’s school yards. The Sporting Schools initiative is extremely exciting for all involved and we are keen to grow our game and maintain our position as one of Australia’s favourite sports.
Cricket Australia is pleased to partner with the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) to deliver this $160 million Australian Government initiative to get more children playing more sport.
As the national sporting organisation (NSO) for cricket, we offer schools and coaches quality programs that encourage children to participate in this great sport.
“I think it’s an outstanding initiative with what they are doing here with the school sporting program. It’s amazing to see kids out there playing and being so active and you can see all these kids having a good time behind us. They’re really enjoying themselves and I think it’s great for them to stay active as well”. Steve Smith, Australian cricket captain.
The Cricket Australia Product
The programs have been specifically designed for Sporting Schools with the aim of increasing participant’s confidence and competence and providing the assisting school representative with additional resources around new cricket content for their curriculum.
The junior program is aimed at low to mid primary aged kids with content more suitable to this age and ability level based around our national MILO in2CRICKET program.
The senior program is aimed at mid to upper aged primary kids with content more suitable to this age and ability level based around our national MILO T20 Blast program.
Teachers and coaches are our assets
Cricket Australia values the role of teachers not just in the classroom but in the school yard as well. Their enthusiasm for improving children’s lives is often understated. Society places its trust and confidence in teachers who as educators, have one of the most important roles for our children, outside of parents and carers.
Coaches are also a wonderful influence on children throughout their formative years. Coaches are the people who deliver the skills with fun and enjoyment.
