Sports Ability resources now align to the curriculum
The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) has recently redeveloped the Sports Ability resources to align to the Australian Health and Physical Education Curriculum to help support teachers and coaches in the delivery of sport to students of all abilities.
The Sports Ability cards guide deliverers through the set-up of the activities, as well as providing ways that they can adapt and modify elements within the game to ensure everyone can participate in an engaged, meaningful way. The resource consists of 28 games that teach a wide range of skills and tactics through sports including Boccia, Goalball, Hockey, Polybat, Sitting Volleyball, Tee Ball and Target Games.
The redesigned cards now include clear connections to the learning outcomes of students, as well as features that will assist teachers and coaches to search for, and access games that best fit the needs of their students, including:
- Bands of learning
- Curriculum links
- Learning intentions
